Call for action on the Circ

For almost two decades, the Sierra Club has been active in the fight to stop the Circ - a loop highway sure to bring sprawling development and resulting environmental degradation to Chittenden County - and lead the effort to find a sustainable alternative that ensures smart growth and offers Vermonters transportation choice. However, both the Douglas and Bush administrations are eager to build the Circ and have ushered through a rushed environmental review process that ignores alternatives. In order to force a proper look at alternatives and ensure Vermont grows in a sensible manner, Sierra Club has joined other groups in a federal action to ensure a proper environmental review of this highway occurs and alternates are considered.
